Osaka Parking & Smoking Finder ("the Service") is a free map for finding parking lots and designated smoking areas in Osaka, Japan. This policy explains what information the Service handles.
The Service requires no account and does not collect personally identifying information such as your name, email address or phone number.
If you use the "show my location" feature, the Service uses your device's location to centre the map. That location is used only to draw the map on your device — it is never sent to or stored on our servers.
Granting location access is optional. All search features work normally without it.
When you add or correct a spot, the name, address, rate, opening hours, notes and photos you enter — along with the location you tapped on the map — are stored on our servers and shown publicly to other users.
Submissions are anonymous and we store nothing identifying the contributor. Please do not submit anything you would not want published, such as photos containing identifiable people or details of private property.
When you submit a spot, a deletion key is stored on that device only. The device holding that key can delete your submission; if the key is lost (site data cleared, or you switch devices) the submission can no longer be deleted.
Text and photos you submit or edit are checked automatically before they are published. Submissions containing abuse, sexual content, advertising or personal information are not published.
For this check, the submitted text and photos are sent to Anthropic PBC (the Claude API). Only the submitted content is sent — no location history and nothing identifying your device.
This check is not perfect. If you find inappropriate content on the map, please get in touch using the contact details below.
Spots you save to your favourites, and whether you dismissed the install prompt, are stored only on your device using the browser's localStorage. This information is never transmitted to our servers.
Clearing site data in your browser settings also erases it.

Advertising partners may use cookies when serving ads.
The Service does not use Google Analytics or any comparable analytics tool, and does not track or profile your browsing.
